Preschool Screenings

The first 5 years of life are the most vital for development of speech and language skills. Articulation or speech is the process by which sounds, syllables, and words are formed.  A child’s sounds/articulation develops as he grows and the majority of speech sounds should be correct by age 4. Although s/he may not use all the sounds of speech correctly, s/he should be intelligible to strangers.

A speech screening for children ages 3 through 5 can be set up at your preschool and provided for a nominal fee per child. The screening is typically done in the classroom or conference room during school hours. A brief summary of the observations are reported both to the parents and teachers along with suggestions and recommendations on how to best help children who may present with speech and/or language challenges.
